From Dubuque to Selma and Beyond

Decorah Public Library will host author Dave Markward as he discusses his memoir From Dubuque to Selma and Beyond: My Journey to Understand Racism in America. Markward’s presentation will be in the mezzanine at Decorah Public Library on April 29th at 5:30. 

Participants will embark on a transformative journey with former Cedar Rapids Community School Superintendent Dave Markward as he shares is personal quest to understand the complexities of racism and pursue social justice in America. Markward will have copies of his book available for purchase at the event. 

Dave Markward has dedicated his professional life to public education, serving as a trusted source of knowledge for five decades. His memoir is a testament to his unwavering belief in humanity and the power of education to create change.
